6 & Under

Coach Donavan Crabtree

Coach Crabtree assisted has been an assistant coach for other organizations in town for mini flag. He enjoys being around the kids and making each and every kid feel special. Coach Crabtree loves seeing his players progress into better players and focusing on the importance of building positive relationships through sports.

Coach Crabtree is excited about being a Spartan, because he can see the love for the kids in the organization and he says, "it was a no brainer to become a Spartan!", when the opportunity was presented to him.

6 & Under

Coach Jimmy Sykes Jr

Jimmy Sykes Jr 

1) Coaching experience 2 years

2) Playing experience played Football from age 10 to 18. Played at Dallas Gateway Charter High school were I was a 1st team all district TE all 4 years of high school. After high school I went to college and played basketball at Huston Tillotson University for 2 years on a full scholarship. 


3) Favorite team The Dallas Cowboys/  Texas Longhorns 


4) I became a coach because of my love for the game and the enjoyment that I get from the children when coaching. I enjoy being able to give these young men the things and knowledge that wasn't given to me. I enjoy being a role model to these young men and want them to know that you should always share your knowledge because you never know what your advice could do for someone else.

Coach CJ Williams

Coach CJ Williams is the head coach of one of the 8U teams in our Denton Spartan Organization.

Coach Williams is originally from Aurora, Colorado and has nine years of coaching experience. Coach Williams spent his playing days as a quarterback and has experience playing on the junior college level.

Coach CJ became a coach because he feels there is nothing better than to give back every bit of football knowledge he has to young kids that want to learn the game.

10 & Under

Coach Rickey Cooper

Coach Rickey Cooper is the head coach of the 10 and under Denton Spartans. Coach Cooper is from Denton, Texas and has five years of coaching experience with the youth in our community. Coach Cooper spent his playing days at Denton Ryan high school as an offensive lineman. Coach Cooper was a part of a 2003 state finalist team, a 2004 state quarter finalist team, and a 2002 state championship team. Being a youth football coach is about so much more than the on-field success in Coach Cooper’s opinion. Coach Cooper is more interested helping this boys turn in to young productive men.

 

Spartan Pride to Coach Cooper means: doing the right thing even when it’s easier to do the wrong thing. Spartan pride to me means working hard, helping others, and always striving for greatness at anything you commit to! Being a Spartan is a privilege and I am honored to be #SpartanProud!

12 & Under

Coach Dedric Bailey

Coach Dedric Bailey is the head coach of one of our 12U Spring flag and Fall tackle teams in our Denton Spartans Organization. Coach Bailey is a native of Irving, Texas and has three daughters, Lanyah, Demetria, & Arianna. Coach Bailey is one of the founding members of the Denton Spartans Organization. Coach Bailey has five years of coaching experience. Coach Bailey became a coach to develop our youth, to try and help motivate and teach our youth life lessons through sports, to never give up, and to give guidance to the next generation. I want to do my part to help our community, and I feel sports is a good foundation for discipline, hard work and perseverance.

Spartan Pride to Coach Bailey means: To have respect for yourself and others. TO not be afraid of hard work in order to achieve your goals. To strive daily to get better one action at a time. 

Coach Yancey Davis

Yancey Davis

Coaching 12 years (baseball, football, basketball)


From Haslet. Live here with my wife of 13 years. 2 boys (14,11) and my daughter (8). 


I enjoy coaching because I enjoy seeing the progress in the character long after I’m done teaching them the X’s and O’s. Teaching youth is unique in that you get to be a part of their personal development as well as their physical development.
